Superfood Smoothie



This smoothie features many superfoods to boost your health. Use organic ingredients whenever possible for more nutrients and fewer toxins. This makes a great snack or a healthy breakfast. Makes 2 servings • 1-2 cups water, coconut water or milk, almond milk, or a combination • 2-4 T chia seeds, hemp seeds, and/or flax seeds, soaked. (Can also use other soaked seeds or nuts as desired). • 1/2 small cucumber and/or 1 celery stalk and/or handful lettuce leaves • Handful parsley and/or cilantro • 1 cup or more fruit (fresh/frozen berries, apple, peaches, nectarines, mango, banana, etc. (for RESTART®, choose allowed f ruits) • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or MCT oil (optional) • 1 tablespoon collagen or other protein powder (optional) • 1 or more tsp. greens powder or spirulina (great for children) (optional) • 3-5 dashes each: cinnamon, turmeric (optional) • Optional ingredients: maca powder, vitamin C powder, or 1 or 2 dashes sea salt Add liquid to the bottom of blender, add seeds/nuts and soak while assembling other ingredients. Add fruit, vegetables, and other ingredients and blend till smooth, adding more liquid as needed. Drink immediately for maximum benefits or save some for a later snack. You may also try using other vegetables or adding kefir or yogurt if tolerated. If you don’t have coconut or almond milk, just throw in some coconut flakes or soaked almonds. The possibilities are endless!
